Today, Theis-Böger is selling natural stone all over Europe, with the focus on roof and wall slates. Apart from our own production site at the Altlay underground mine, we source our goods from the best mining sites all over the world. Our major producer of slate roof tiles is Spain.

With its pioneering spirit and entrepreneurial flair, Theis-Böger took up contact with the Spanish slate industry and was the first German company to import significant amounts from 1970 onwards. Sold under the name Assulo®, our slate tiles won immediate market acceptance.

In order to meet the quality standards required by our domestic market, our Spanish subsidiary Theboe S.A. was founded in 1988. The processing plant which we fully own uses machinery developed by us that treats the stone with the utmost care and ensures a continuously high quality standard. On-going material control at the mines forms the basis of this system.
