In principle, all the natural stone used by Theis-Böger does not require special care or maintenance. In the case of sandstone and quartzite, we simply recommend you clean the surface well with water and carbolic soap. High-pressure cleaning equipment can also be used for external areas. Standard cement residue removers can be used to remove mortar and adhesive residues.

In addition, a surface treatment is available, particularly for slate used for interior surfaces, in order to make it more resistant against dirt of all kinds. In addition, a final treatment, when applied after intensive cleaning, will result in a long-lasting enhancement of both the colour and the structure.

There are various ways of achieving this:

• a colour enhancer in a watery solution can be applied from time to time.

• a special surface wipe can be used in addition to a normal wet detergent.

• natural slate oil can be applied at intervals of several years.
